Percutaneous Short-Term Trigeminal Ganglion Electrical Stimulation for Treating Intractable Postherpetic Neuralgia

Head and facial herpes zoster is more prone to developing into postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). Pharmacological treatments are often ineffective, and electrical stimulation therapy is one treatment option. The authors present a case of a 75-year-old female patient with PHN for 3 months, who was treated with short-term trigeminal ganglion electrical stimulation (GGS), resulting in effective alleviation of her pain symptoms.
