摘要
Field Sequential Color LCD (FSC‐LCD) eliminates the need for color filters (CFs) by leveraging time‐division multiplexing, enabling ultra‐low power consumption, high pixel density (PPI), and enhanced color performance. While these attributes make FSC‐LCD promising for small‐to‐medium displays, its adoption in large‐size Ultra‐High‐Definition (UHD) applications remains constrained by unresolved challenges, including color breakup (CBU), crosstalk, and high‐refresh‐rate control complexities. This paper comprehensively reviews recent advancements in multi‐primary backlight systems, high frame rate control, and optimization algorithms. By integrating these innovations, we propose a holistic framework to mitigate existing bottlenecks and accelerate the commercialization of FSC‐LCD for large‐scale UHD displays.
