In this paper, the progress of the urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin with low formaldehyde content and its wood-products with low formaldehyde emission has been reviewed, the review consists of several parts as follows: optimization of molar ratios of the starting compounds for UF resin, modification of technological process of UF resin and wood based panels, use of fillers and formaldehyde catchers, combining formaldehyde absorbing material with panels, and post-treatment of panels and their products.
