Osteoporotic fracture is the most serious complication of osteoporosis.Anti-osteoporosis therapy should be conducted at the same time to treat the fracture.However,there are some clinical controversies on whether these drugs interfere the fracture healing,whether these drugs could be used after fracture,and how the drugs could be used.The paper presents an overview on the effect of anti-osteoporosis drugs on osteoporotic fracture healing.Anti-osteoporosis drugs can be divided into the following: dietary supplement,anti-absorption drugs,bone-formation stimulating drugs,drugs combined with the effect of anti-absorption and bone formation stimulating,and new drugs being developed.Many scholars have conducted a lot of research on the effect of anti-osteoporosis drugs on osteoporotic fracture healing.Most of the clinical and laboratory evidences indicate that anti-osteoporosis drugs have neutral or positive effects on fracture healing.However,some studies provide different conclusions.The summary of these conclusions could give certain clinical significance to the drug treatment of osteoporotic fracture.
