The influence of different high mechanical index on Kupffer phase contrast-enhanced ultrasound with Sonazoid in rabbit liver

Objective To investigate kuppfer phase imaging of liver parenchyma with Sonazoid in healthy rabbits by repeated burst method with different high mechnical index(MI).Methods The ultrasound contrast agent of Sonazoid was bolus injected in 6 healthy rabbits by repeat burst method with different high MI(1.0,1.4,1.9,respectively) and the same duration time(3 sec) was added to liver parenchyma,then the contrast-enhanced ultrasound with low mechanical index was used to observe the change for vision intensity of the flash field.Image J quantitative software was used to analyze the change of depth,width and microbubbles damage of flash field with different high MIs.The statistical method was used to assess relationships among high MI,depth,width and microbubbles damage of flash field,respectively.Results The MI was higher(from 1.0 to 1.4,to 1.9),the depth of flash field was deeper [from(2.20 ± 0.22) mm to(9.25 ± 0.61) mm,to(20.3 ± 1.07) mm],and the percentage of microbubbles damage was higher than those of control group as well [from(21.02 ± 1.63) % to(21.02 ± 2.25) %,to(81.57 ± 1.63) %].There was a significant correlation between MI and depth of flash field(correlation coefficient r2 was 0.954,P 0.001),MI and percentage of microbubbles damage(correlation coefficient r2 was 0.927,P 0.001),respectively.However,different MIs were not associated with the width of flash field(correlation coefficient r2 was 0.07,P = 0.287).Conclusion The higher MI led to deeper flash field and higher percentage of microbubbles damage on kuppfer phase contrast-enhanced ultrasound with Sonazoid by repeat burst method.
