Advances Research in Callus Inducement and Cell Culture of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi

Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi is a traditional medicine herb plant.It have many important bioactive effects,such as antibacterial,anti-abnormal reaction,anti-carcinogenic,anti-oxidation,anti-HIV,eliminating free radical etc.This paper summarized the explant selection,culture condition selection and culture periods in callus inducement of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi.Furthermore,the secondary metabolic regulation in cell cultures of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi was also summed up.This paper would offer references for culturing cell of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi on a large scale to produce the secondary metabolites.
