Progress on Monosaccharide Composition and Physiological Function of Pumpkin Polysaccharide

Based on the latest research results in recent 10 years,this article provides an overview of the chemical composition and physiological function of the pumpkin polysaccharide.As an important active composition in pumpkin,the pumpkin polysaccharide is a kind of heteropolysaccharide that containsβ-1,3 glycosidic bonds in its backbone andα-lycosidic bonds in its side chain.It also consists of glucose,galaetose,arabonose,glueuronie acid and many other monosaccharides.Pumpkin polysaccharide can reduce glycemia and hyperlipoidemia,has anti-oxygenic activity,anti-tumour effects and other physiological function.In the future,the relationships between the space structure and the anti-glycemia function of pumpkin polysaccharide need to be further studied.At the end of this article,we pointed out the research direction of pumpkin polysaccharide.
