ChemInform Abstract: Reaction of Quaternary Ammonium Salts Containing Polyfluoroalkyl Groups. Part 3. Synthesis and Reactions of (1H,1H,ωH‐Perfluoroalkyl)trimethylammonium Halides.

Abstract Reaction of the N,N‐dimethylfluoroalkylamines (I) with methyl iodide (II) produces satisfactory yields of the quaternary ammonium iodides (III), whereas reaction of (I) with ethyl or propyl iodide gives only poor to moderate yields of the corresponding quaternary salts.
