摘要
The article deals with heating stage diagnostics of the electric arc furnace (EAF) using data about higher harmonics of electric arc voltage. Nowadays, plenty of modern electrode control systems use specific power consumption as a parameter for switching from one heating stage to another. Nevertheless, specific energy consumption is a parameter, which has no direct correlation with real technological processes inside of the furnace bath. Thus, it is more preferable to use another parameter, namely, total harmonic distortion of electric arc voltage. Due to the physical characteristics of electric arc, this parameter reflects current heating stage with a high reliability. Nevertheless, it is difficult to measure electric arc voltage with direct methods of measuring. As a result, development of the model-based indirect measuring methods has a particular relevance.
