摘要
Glucose dehydrogenation offers a prospect of value-added gluconic acid and green hydrogen from biomass-based platform molecules. The design of the cover image is based on the ancient Chinese folklore “The Carp Jumps over the Dragon Gate”, which tells of a carp who jumps over the dragon gate and transforms into a dragon. Cheap glucose, akin to carp, goes through the hemiacetal dehydrogenation pathway, yielding high value-added gluconic acid, akin to the dragon, as well as the additional green hydrogen. In the current study, the hemiacetal dehydrogenation pathway is reported and the importance of biomass catalytic conversion for carbon neutralization emphasized.
