摘要
The protective ability of polymeric coatings is a function of the presence of covalent interactions in their architecture. However, supramolecular polymers are characterized by weak and reversible noncovalent interactions capable of effecting self-healing functionality but detrimental to the barrier properties. Hence, the need to introduce functionalized nanofillers to improve the mechanical properties of supramolecular polymeric coatings as well as impact other interesting functions. This chapter is a review of the recent and interesting techniques that are being adopted in the design of supramolecular polymer nanocomposite for corrosion protection.
