Sub-eutectic solid solubilities in the silver-copper system have been determined using high-temperature X-ray diffractometry and applying Vegard's rule. The temperature at which solid solubility first becomes perceptible is found to be T v approximately=380 degrees C by X-ray analysis. Thermoelectric measurements on the Ag-Cu couple showed no sharp changes in TEMF with temperature, but gave a minimum also at 380 degrees C.
