ChemInform Abstract: Reactions of (CH3)3Si‐N=C=N‐Si(CH3)3 with Trimethylaluminum, Trimethylgallium, and Trimethylindium.

Abstract Bis(trimethylsilyl)carbodiimide (I) forms the 1:1 adducts (III) with trimethylindium and trimethylgallium (II), whereas trimethylaluminum (IV) reacts with (I) to give the insertion product (V) which has C2v symmetry and a planar AlN 2 C skeleton.
