Folded conformations. Part VIII. Does intramolecular donor/acceptor interaction affect the basicity of p‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)benzyl p‐nitrophenyl sulfone?

Abstract Comparison of the equilibrium basicity of the title sulfone (1) with that of some reference compounds indicates that the ground state of 1 is not affected by intramolecular charge transfer from the donor to the acceptor ring.
