Based on a corrosion theory,a new corrosion resistant Ni-based alloy with rare-earth element has been designed. The properties of Ni-based alloy is analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),optical microscopy(OM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD).Effect of rare-earth elements on properties of Ni-based alloy is discussed. The results show that the addition of rare-earth elements can result in the relatively dense and homogeneous microstructure, which can improve the corrosion resistance of Ni-based alloy.
