[Objective] The research aimed to explore the influencing factors and variation of the viscosity of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose solution. [Method] The factors of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose mass fraction,temperature,pH,coagulant,salt,etc were studied by controlling the variable method. [Result]Viscosity of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose increased cellulose content exponentially. With decreasing temperature,the viscosity decreased. Viscosity was almost independent of pH. Gellan gum and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose had good compatibility with viscosity behavior synergy. With salt content increased,the viscosity gradually decreased and stabilized.[Conclusion]Application performance low viscosity hydroxypropyl methylcellulose hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose solution was affected by concentration,temperature,salinity and other factors.
