Effects of compound matrine injection combined with arterial infusion chemotherapy on the advanced non-small cell lung cancer with cancer pain

Objective:To observe the effects of compound matrine injection combined with arterial infusion chemotherapy on the advanced non-small cell lung cancer with cancer pain.Methods:From September 2010 to October 2012,60 patients of non-small cell lung cancer with cancer pain were randomly divided into 2 groups.Thirty patients were assigned to receive compound matrine injection combined with arterial infusion chemotherapy,and 30 patients to receive arterial infusion chemotherapy alone(control).After treatment for 2 cycles,the efficacy in two groups was evaluated.Results:The overall response rate in combination group(43.3%)was similar to that in control group(33.3%,P = 0.426).The disease control rates were 76.7% in combination group and 56.7% in control group(P = 0.100).The Karnofsky performance status(KPS)improvement rates were similar in two groups(P = 0.184).The pain relief rate was significantly better and the side effects of chemotherapy was lower in combination group than in control group(P 0.05).Conclusion:Compound matrine injection combined with arterial infusion chemotherapy can enhance the efficacy,improve the quality of life,alleviate pain and reduce side effects of chemotherapy significantly in treating the advanced non-small cell lung cancer with cancer pain.
