TEST PROGRAM AND ANALYTICAL STUDY ON MODEL F-8 AIRPLANE MAIN LANDING GEAR LOADS.

An experimental and an analytical program to determine and to compare the main landing gear loads developed in airplane drop tests and in jig tests with and without forward speed was conducted. The test data are summarized and compared to the analytical results. The derivation of the equations of motion used in the analyses is presented in an appendix. The analytical and test results of this program are also compared to the results of airplane drop test and of landplane landing tests. (Author)
