• Solvent-assisted ball milling strategy is developed for nano sulfide solid electrolytes (SSE). • The method offers a more efficient synthesis versus conventional ball milling route. • The nanostructured SSE exhibits outstanding electrochemical performances. • The nano-SSE enables all-solid-state batteries with superior rate and cycling performances.
