Asymmetric heptamethine quinocyanines with large Stokes shifts for high-fidelity imaging of mitochondrial viscosity and NAFLD

Asymmetric heptamethine quinocyanine dyes QCy7 with large Stokes shifts were designed and synthesized. QCy7-1 was utilized for high-fidelity imaging of mitochondrial viscosity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in mice.
