摘要
This chapter describes the work done by means of Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Spectroscopy on the characterization of graphene grown or deposited on different substrates. The influence of the substrates on the morphology and electronic structure of graphene is discussed. The chapter ends with a description of the experimental research done on the characterization of individual defects on the graphene network and on the fabrication of graphene nanoribbons and the electronic structure of the edges.
