CHAPTER 1: Taxonomy and Phylogeny of Magnaporthales and Recommendations for Scientific Names of Genera

The fungal order Magnaporthales includes economically and scientifically important cereal and grass pathogens, which are also model organisms in host-pathogen interaction studies. This chapter discusses the history of Magnaporthales taxonomy, explains the current naming recommendations, and presents phylogenetic analyses for several understudied taxa of Magnaporthales to resolve their phylogenetic positions.
