In this paper, a high-gain, low cross-polarization microstrip patch antenna is designed for future 6G applications. At first, four shorting pins are loaded to the patch antenna, increasing the radiating area through the shunt inductance effect to enhance the gain of the antenna. Meanwhile, introducing two longitudinal slots on the patch surface further improves the gain and reduces cross-polarization. Simulation results show that within the impedance bandwidth from 6.48 to 6.94 GHz, the proposed antenna achieves an efficiency greater than 90%, a gain greater than 10.2 dBi, and a peak gain of 10.88 dBi, which is approximately 3.1 dB higher than that of the conventional antenna. Furthermore, the antenna demonstrates excellent low cross-polarization characteristics, with the H-plane cross-polarization reduced by approximately 13.3 dB compared to the conventional antenna.
