A New UV-Spectrophotometric Method for the Determination of Substitution Degree of Benzyl Starch

Hydrolysate of starch used as the reference solution,the concentration of the reference solution was adjusted frequently to remove the effect of aldehydy on absorption peak of benzyl.Thus,the accuracy of the substitution degree is increased in the new UV-spectrophotometric method for the determinatin of Benzyl starch substitution degree.Experiment results showed that the experimental error between accuracy and pricision experiments was less than 6.01%.Compared with NMR,this new method is easy in operation and has a higer degree of accuracy.
