Development of Ti6Al4V alloy prepared by conventional and new powder metallurgy technology is described in detail,and its mechanical properties are compared with Ti6Al4V alloy fabricated by cast or forged technology.The results show that powder metallurgy technology can reduce the cost of Ti6Al4V alloy and its mechanical properties can also satisfy requirements of application.In the present paper,research progress in Ti6Al4V porous material is also elaborated,which shows powder metallurgy technology could extend the range of application in medical science area of Ti6Al4V alloy further.
