Researches on hydrodeoxygenation of bio-oils

The bio-oils,as a sort of potential renewable energy, are disadvantageous due to their high oxygen content, low heating value,chemical instability and poor tolerance to corrosion, which limits their application. Elimination of oxygen by catalytic hydrotreatment is an effective way for upgrading bio-oils.Latest researches on hydrodeoxygenation(HDO) of model compounds for bio-oil and practical bio-oils were reviewed.
