Objective:To observe the influence of early rehabilitation to the function level after total hip arthroplasty (THA) before discharge.Method:50 patients underwent unilateral THA and were randomly divided into two groups: 30 patients got rehabilitation therapy right after operation, the other 20 cases served as control. Active range of motion (AROM) of operated hip and functional independence measure (FIM) at discharge were compared. Result: AROM and FIM in the patients with early rehabilitation were higher than those in the control group(P0.01). Conclusion: Early rehabilitation intervention would improve functional level of patients after THA.Author′s address The Sixth People′s Hospital Affiliated Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, 200233
