Photo-electrochemical Osmotic System Enables Simultaneous Metal Recovery and Electricity Generation from Wastewater

. We further demonstrate the feasibility of the PECOS in recovering diverse metals from a simulated metal-laden industrial wastewater under sunlight irradiation. Our proof-of-concept PECOS prototype provides a sustainable technological solution that leverages sunlight in an electrochemical osmotic system to recover multiple resources from wastewater.
