Experience of using mechanical ventilation in 57 patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome

Objective To explore the mechanical ventilation treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).Methods 57 cases of severe thoracic trauma complicated by acute respiratory distress syndrome were reviewed.All the patients required the mechanical ventilation treatment.Results After mechanical ventilation,57 patients,47 patients survived,10 died,mortality was 17.54%.Conclusion Early diagnosis and mechanical ventilation treatment of ARDS are effective methods to decrease the mortality of ARDS.
