Experimentation of Potato Cultivation Using Plastic Mulching plus Small Plastic Tunnel in Xianning City

According to climate characteristics and market demand in Xianning,Hubei,a comparative experiment of plastic mulching and plastic mulching plus a small plastic tunnel for potato cultivation was set up,and growth duration,frost damage,diseased plant percentage,tuber traits,yield,cost and benefit were compared between these two modes.The results indicated that the cultivation mode of plastic mulching plus a small plastic tunnel could not only promote the early maturity of potato,which could enter the market early and would get an added bonus,but also prevent potato from frost damage,poor emergence and disease due to wet climate in spring.
