IN A RECENT study of a wartlike eruption of the hands and feet in a boy of 17 years, investigation revealed a familial incidence of the disease involving no less than 14 members of the family in four generations. Careful histologic examination of the lesions seemed to warrant a diagnosis of Hopf's acrokeratosis verruciformis.
REPORT OF CASES
History.—
P.P.D., a 17 year old boy of Italian parentage, consulted me for warts on his hands (fig. 1), which, according to the boy's mother, had made their appearance when he was 9 months of age. He also presented acne vulgaris of the face. The mother and his 2 sisters suffered from similar lesions (figs. 2 and 3), and still further investigation led to the discovery of no less than 14 members of this family afflicted in the same manner over four generations.
