摘要
Norway is a major producer of farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). Fatty fish, such as farmed salmon can be a source of contaminants, however it does also provide several key nutrients and can therefore be an important part of diets worldwide. In compliance with EU legislation, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA) monitors levels of certain contaminants in farmed fish annually. Data on both nutrients and contaminants in the same samples of fish is important for conducting risk-benefit assessments and evaluating the role of seafood in the diet. The aim of the present study was to determine selected contaminants and nutrients in the same samples of farmed salmon.
