The majority of their performance attributes have been focused on reliable adhesion against a broad range of substrates under a wide set of environmental conditions. Unlike adhesives for application outside of the viewing area of a display, optically clear adhesives (OCAs) have a unique set of performance requirements. From a high-level viewpoint, the OCAs in a display have at least three main functions: optical, mechanical, and electrical. The touch and display industry is very dynamic, with constantly changing design and substrates being used to make the ever thinner, lighter, and brighter devices. This chapter focuses on key technical challenges and their solutions. The different OCA suppliers will supply recommendations for adhesive selection and process parameter guidelines to make successful assembly possible. References Goetz , R. and Ouderkirk , A.
