摘要
Abstract In this work, eco‐friendly biodegradable nonwoven and woven jute‐based soy composites were fabricated. As cellulose of jute and protein part of water‐based soy resin have requisite functional groups to bind chemically and produce mechanically strong composite, hence tensile and flexural strength of developed jute composite were measured and found to be 48.8 and 42.5 MPa, respectively as optimum. Water absorption, impact strength, fire retardancy, and soil burial degradation of developed composites were carried out. Sapling pots were fabricated and their environmental degradation study was executed by growing sapling. Weight loss, spectral, and morphology analysis after biodegradation of sapling pots revealed that developed samples are completely biodegradable in nature. Hence, this innovation can be an alternate to harmful plastic‐based composite/sapling pot and other ceramic‐based sapling pots to keep our environment free of pollution.
