Accelerated partial breast irradiation technique for whole-breast radiotherapy: A concern

Sir, I read the current publication of Wadasadawala et al. with great interest.[1] I agree that the new Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI) technique might be superior to the conventional technique of whole-breast radiotherapy. However, there are many other points to be considered. First, the required period of time for practicing the new technique should be compared to that required for the conventional technique. Second, the cost-effectiveness of the new alternative must also be compared to that of the classical one. Consideration of these points can help judge whether or not to select the new APBI technique for whole-breast radiotherapy.
