摘要
Objective To compare the bond strength between customized and conventional lingual brackets and that of three commonly used adhesives in lingual orthodontics.Methods Forty-eight extracted human teeth were randomly divided into 4 groups.The customized lingual brackets in group 1,2 and 3 were bonded with UniteTM,Maximum Cure,and Blugloo.The conventional lingual brackets in group 4 were bonded with UniteTM.The shear bond force was measured by AG-X testing machine,and the shear bond strength was calculated.Results The mean shear bond strength in group 1 was significantly higher (P<0.01) than that in groups 2 and 4,(group 1,16.62±6.34 MPa; group 2,8.56±3.38 MPa; group 4,9.73±2.79 MPa) and was significant higher (P<0.05) than that in group 3 (group 3,11.32±7.15 MPa).Conclusions The shear bond strength is larger for customized lingual brackets than forconventional lingual brackets.The bond strength of UniteTM adhesive isbetter.
