摘要
Physical unclonable function (PUF) circuits are used to store secret information in the form of physical characteristics. PUF provides low-cost and efficient authentication, which enhances the hardware security of the chip without employing expensive cryptographic algorithms. The secret key is derived from inherent fabrication variations depends on PUF circuit responses. Hence it is difficult to predict device information by an attacker. In this paper, the literature review of different models of PUF circuits and the various properties of PUFs such as uniqueness, reproducibility, randomness, area, scalability, and compatibility with CMOS. Highlighting several emerging concepts in PUF technologies that are attaining viable interest and its applications in different environments.
