Objective To establish a HPLC method for the determination of the entrapment efficiency of Docetaxel- loaed,Folate- cojugated chitosan nanoparticles. Method The separation was performed with a Hypersil ODS2 column,and the mobile phase consisted of methanol- water( 67: 33) with a flow rate of 1. 0 mlomin- 1,and UV detection wavelength at 229nm. Centrifugation was applied to isolate free drug for the entrapment efficiency determination. Result Centrifugation could effectively separate the nanoparticles from free drugs. The average recovery was 101. 10%( RSD = 2. 06%),and the average entrapment efficiency was 85. 74%( RSD = 0. 60%). Conclusion The method is simple,accurate and sensitive,and can be used to determine the entrapment efficiency of FA-CTS / DTX nanoparticles.
