WC-8 %Co cemented carbide was prepared by microwave sintering process in a multi-mode cavity with the sintering cycle of 1~1.5 h.The influences of the alloy structures and properties with the microwave sintering were studied. It shows that the microwave sintering can reduce sintering temperature and shorten sintering time. The microwave sintered WC-8 %Co cemented carbide can reach 14.71 g/cm3 density and 90.3 hardness HRA in 1,400 ℃sintering temperature and 0 min preservation. And the products of the WC-8 %Co cemented carbide sintered by microwave sintering can decrease the grain size. There is no significant differences between the center and edge region of the samples.WC grain size is not augmented obviously with the sintering time extended, but a little increased with the sintering temperature raised.
