Studies on Setting Up the Reversed Field Pinch Configuration by Using the Heliotron C Magnetic Field

The setting up the reversed field pinch configuration with the aid of separatrix of the Heliotron C magnetic field has been tested in the small scale linear pinch device. In the experiment, important results have been obtained; first the reversed field configuration can be easily set up without any programming and secondly the separatrix has the magnetic limiter action which is expected to keep the plasma without striking the wall in the phase of setting up.
