摘要
In this special issue, “Pesticide and Veterinary Drug Residues in Food,” we are fortunate to have seven papers representing the current research and perhaps a small glimpse of future things to come in residue analysis. The research presented in these papers was performed in reputable laboratories by investigators with several years of experience in their fields. Some noticeable observations: Michlig and Lehotay (1) analyzed 245 pesticides in barley grain and hemp pellets using an updated version of QuEChERS known as QuEChERSER (with the addition of Efficient and Robust), which splits the acetonitrile extract to allow application of optimal cleanup procedures for GC–MS and LC–MS analysis (2). In this work, the authors focused on GC–MS techniques, analyzing these extracts by low pressure gas chromatography-MRM MS/MS (LPGC–MS/MS) and LPGC–HRMS. They were able to show the pros and cons of the use of a triple quadrupole analyzer operating in MS/MS mode and a high-resolution Orbitrap analyzer operating in full scan MS mode.
