Nucleic acids components and their analogues. XXXVI. The synthesis of deuterated uracil and thymine

The preparation of the stably deuterated 5-bromouracil6-d, uracil-5-d, uracil-6-d, uracil-5,8-d/sub 2/, 5,6-dihydrod deuterium atoms were prepared by exchange reactions. Methods for tue preparation of diethyl malate- alpha ,O-d/ sub 2/ and ethanol-d are also described. Some syntheses of uracil were modified. (auth)
