Boron phosphide as an efficient metal-free catalyst for nitrate electroreduction to ammonia

BP is demonstrated as an efficient metal-free catalyst for electrochemical NO 3 − reduction to NH 3 (NO 3 RR), which is attributed to the active B sites to effectively promote the NO 3 RR and prohibit the hydrogen evolution.
