摘要
Due to the complex 3D structure, the loss calculation of Conductor on Round Core (CORC) cable wounded with REBCO coated conductors is time-consuming. In this work, an equivalent cross-section numerical model for CORC cable was developed using T-A formulation. The critical current density of the cross-section model was modified with the parameter $k$ to achieve equivalent magnetization and transport AC losses. This adjustment was determined under an infinite long condition by comparing losses between the cross-section model and 3D CORC cable. Simulated results of the equivalent cross-section model showed good agreement with losses of 3D CORC cable under an 1-turn coil configuration, demonstrating its feasibility in complex cable geometries. The AC loss of one straight CORC cable was calculated under conditions of both transport current and external field. The selection of $k$ was discussed, which was found to be the same as that on magnetization loss when external field exceeded 50 mT.
