摘要
Abstract GABA receptorany of several membrane proteins that bindy-aminobutyrate (GABA) and mediate its effects as an inhibitoryneurotransmitter. Two main types have been distinguished:GABAA receptors, known also as GABA-gatedchannels, which function as a Cl- channel; and GABA8 receptors, which are G-protein-coupled receptors. Baclofen is a potent GABA mimetic that is selective for the GABA8 receptor;muscimol is its counterpart for the GABAA receptor. The GABAA receptor is multimeric, with a (types al-a6), (types 1- 4), y (types yl-y3), 8, and p subunits.
