摘要
ABSTRACT The analysis of variance (ANOVA) method and the range method are employed to conduct gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies. While the range method does not account for the statistical nature of the data, unlike the ANOVA method, it is, on the one hand, faster and, on the other hand, simpler to implement. The range method is based on the calculation of an estimator, which is the ratio of the range to a tabulated function called or ( considers only the subgroup sizes of the data, while also takes into account the number of subgroups). A random sampling algorithm for calculating these or functions is presented both to numerically implement these functions and to enhance their accuracy. Following the implementation and validation of this new algorithm, a geochemistry application is introduced to automate the calculation of repeatability and reproducibility, facilitating the straightforward execution of an Honest Gauge R&R study.
