Colloidal crystals assembled by submicron polystyrene (PS) microspheres, a new type of three-dimensionally (3D) ordered submicron material, have attracted significant attention among the researchers due to their potential application in a variety of technologic fields, spanning over, photonic crystals, [1,2] optical filters, [3] optical switches, [4] and chemical and biochemical sensors [5].
