摘要
Heterocyclic compounds are immensely utilized in agrochemical applications, such as fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides. This study covers the research development in the last 5 years, focusing on advancements in the synthesis and trends of heterocyclic compounds as agrochemicals. A total of 31 studies were systematically reviewed following an advanced search from Scopus database and a rigorous selection process. Coumarins, Imidazoles, Quinolines, Oxazoles, Benzothiazoles, and primarily nitrogen-based heterocyclic compounds have been identified as the most used agrochemicals. Notable advancements include eco-friendly methodologies such as green synthesis, multicomponent reactions, and transition metal-free strategies. These methodologies have improved sustainability and efficiency. Structure-activity relationship studies have improved the bioactivity of heterocyclic compounds. This is done by optimizing their applications as fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides. Future trends have highlighted the multifunctionality and adaptability of heterocyclic compounds as agrochemicals. The novel synthesis methods will help in promoting eco-friendly and effective agrochemical practices.. KEYWORDS :Heterocyclic compounds, Agrochemicals, Applications, Sustainability, Efficiency
