Two potential antibacterial agents of organic silicon quaternary ammonium salt(OSQAS)and chitosan quaternary ammonium salt(HACC) were combined and characterized for their antibacterial activity. The antibacterial results showed that the MIC of OSQAS for both E.coli and S.aureus was 0.032 4mg/mL;the MIC of HACC for E.coli was 0.07mg/mL with an antibacterial rate of 99.54%,while 0.1mg/mL for S.aureus.The propagation of E.coli was inhibited completely when incubated in the media containing 0.5MICHACC/0.5MICOSQAS,which was treated at 40 ℃ for30 min. However, antibacterial rate for S.aureus was 99.44% after incubated in the combination of0.67MIC′HACC/0.67MIC′OSQAS.
