In this study, chitosan microsphere was prepared by phase-inversion method successfully. The effects of the concentration of the crosslinker and the porogen on properties of the microsphere have been discussed. The structure of the microsphere was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR). The influence of different crosslinker concentration on the BSA adsorption was investigated. Results indicate that the microsphere prepared here has high porosity, large content of amine groups, and is insoluble in both acidic and basic solutions. It has high adsorption rate to BSA. Adsorption capacity of the resin for BSA was 116 mg/g.
